A grip inhibits face rotation. The most popular putter grip would be the reverse overlap, as preferred by Tiger Woods. The right palm faces the target and the left forefinger overlaps the fingers of the right hand. • Most amateur golfers grip the putter far too tightly and it inhibits their ability to make a fluid stroke.
